POE 2 Ancient Bones Abyss U4GM Massive Divine Profit Farm

Abyss farming for Ancient Bones is one of those Path of Exile 2 methods that sounds cleaner than it feels in practice. You're not just blasting packs and hoping the loot filter screams. The real aim is to squeeze value out of Abyss chests, because that's where Ancient Jawbones and Ancient Ribs come from. If you're trying to build a steadier pile of POE 2 Currency, this farm can be a nice break from running the same Omen routes over and over, but it does ask more from your character than a lazy map loop.

Why the Chests Matter More Than the Mobs

A lot of players make the mistake of treating Abyss like a normal monster farm. That's not really how this setup pays. The mobs are mostly there to guard the reward, slow you down, and sometimes ruin your evening. Ancient Bones are tied to the Abyss chest rewards, so your planning should be built around making those chests better. Item rarity on the right pieces of the setup matters. Abyss reward modifiers matter. Desecrated currency modifiers matter. Random gold values, though, don't appear to move the needle in any useful way, so there's no point forcing them into the plan.

The Risk Is Very Real

The scary part of the farm is the modifier that raises difficulty and rewards for each closed pit. It's great when your build can handle it. It's miserable when it can't. You'll notice the difference fast: tankier monsters, harder hits, and those sudden deaths where you just sit there for a second wondering what even happened. If your character already feels shaky in Overrun maps, this strategy probably isn't ready for you yet. Softcore players with solid defences, decent damage, and good movement will have a much better time. Hardcore players, or anyone pushing thin gear, should think twice before leaning into the full version.

Tablet Setup That Actually Makes Sense

The most practical setup uses one Unique Abyss Tablet alongside two Rare Abyss Tablets. On the rare tablets, increased rarity of items found in the map is the prefix you really want, since it helps the chest rewards rather than just padding out monster drops. Extra rare monsters, Essences, or rogue exiles can still add money on the side, but they're not the reason you're here. For suffixes, one tablet should carry the pit scaling mod with increased chance for desecrated currency. The other should push more desecrated currency and more reward-heavy pits. Don't double up carelessly on the double reward pit effect in Overrun maps, either. Players have reported chest generation acting weird when that's stacked too hard.

Atlas Choices and Expected Returns

On the Atlas tree, Blackblooded Dominance is the big one. It improves the kind of desecrated currency drops this farm wants, so it fits the plan better than generic Abyss monster bonuses. After that, tablet effect and Waystone modifier effect are strong picks, and Unstable Energy is worth taking if your tree can reach it without too much pain. Abyss monster nodes aren't useless, but don't expect them to carry the profit. In a sample of 50 maps, this style of farming produced a mix of Omens and Ancient Bones worth around 1.16 Divines at market prices. Not absurd money, no, but pretty steady for the investment.

Final Thoughts

This farm suits players who like a bit of pressure and don't mind tuning their maps properly. It's not the smoothest strategy in the game, and it won't save a weak build, but it can reward good preparation. If your gear is strong enough, Ancient Bone farming gives you another way to build value without staring at the same loop all night. Some players may still choose to buy POE 2 Divine Orbs when they want faster upgrades, but for anyone who enjoys earning currency through riskier mapping, Abyss chests are absolutely worth testing.
