Mandatory Client Update – Combat & Movement Tweaks

This update includes a mandatory client update – players must restart their game to continue. The patch introduces extensive combat refinements, movement and control tweaks, quality-of-life improvements, and numerous bug fixes.

Combat and Movement Adjustments

Attack animations across nearly all weapon types have been optimized, with a slight overall increase in playback speed. Great Sword, Single Blade, Gauntlets, Hammer, Dual-blade, Shield, and Spear received adjustments to numerous Mastery skills, including Great Sword’s Quadru-Tornado Slash, Single Blade’s Hop Spin Strike, and Gauntlets’ Spiral Hook. Visual effects and camera shake were improved for several skills, and a new audio cue now plays when a Single Blade user successfully blocks and can perform a Counter Strike. The movement speed penalty while drawing a bow has been removed in PvE (unchanged on PvP servers). Weapon-switching feel is improved: input buffering during skill animations prevents dropped inputs, and a bug that caused unarmed basic attack animations to play while holding a weapon has been fixed. On PvP servers, damage reduction calculations for Agility Whip and Sundering Curse have been further optimized. Spiked Whip skills now have proper hit visual and sound effects.

Player running and sprinting speeds have been slightly increased. Jump height is slightly higher, falling speed during Jump Attacks has been increased, and jump animations are improved. Diagonal rolls have been added, and while using Mimicry, rolls become a teleport with faster animation that is no longer blocked by enemies.

Hitstun and hit-reaction systems have been reworked. The duration of empty-Resilience hitstun and reflection hitstun is shortened (PvP unchanged). Normal hit reactions and knock-up animations have been replaced. Physical hit reactions have been added to many humanoids and previously unresponsive animals, such as Monkeys, Wild Lions, Flamingos, Giant Elephants, and dozens more. When large bosses (including Sobek Crocodile, Mammoth, Tempest Griffin, and others) enter combat, the camera now zooms out for better visibility. All combat-related sound effects have been optimized.

Recover Sense can now remove more control effects, including grab skills and some boss control effects. Its cooldown now scales with difficulty settings – greatly reduced on lower difficulties.

Cross-Save and Quality-of-Life

Single-player now supports cross-map and cross-save gameplay. Both single-player users and co-op hosts can open the save-switching list at cross-map gates. Non-host co-op players will be prompted that only the host can switch saves. When a host switches saves, all characters (including offline ones) are transferred together, and all online players are kicked. In single-player, the currently controlled character and all backpack items are copied to the target save. A secondary confirmation window has been added to prevent accidental switches.

The vertical space requirement for placing Weapon and Gear Racks has been reduced. On No Raid servers, raid hours have been changed to 24/7.

Bug Fixes

Several notable issues have been resolved: ships can no longer be used to lift another ship through walls or terrain. Groundspike damage and missing textures are fixed, and Force Field durability now recovers correctly after being activated by tribesmen. Expedition dispatch errors where enough materials were shown but dispatch failed have been corrected. The group filter in the Exploration Checkpoint interface now works, and a mining platform obstruction issue in the Misty Forest mines has been cleared. Guild kick permission checks are no longer abnormal, and Shipborne Main Cannons can now attack shields as expected.
