U4GM MLB The Show 26 Chase Pack Guide

On August 24, the Chase Pack decision comes down to fit, not hype. Chase 23 is the newest release, arriving August 21 with a 99 OVR Pipeline card, but that alone doesn't make it the automatic pick. Before putting any MLB 26 stubs toward a pack, look at the hole in your Diamond Dynasty squad. If that Pipeline player replaces a weak starter, great. If he's just another option at a loaded position, the shiny new card may sit on your bench more than you expected.

Why Chase 22 still has the edge for many lineups

Chase 22, released August 14, has a much simpler case: 99 OVR Milestone Stan Musial can hit. A lot of players value that left-handed bat more than a newer card with better-looking numbers in the menu. Musial makes sense if you need an outfielder, a designated hitter, or somebody you trust in a close game. He's the sort of card that can slot straight into the middle of the order and stay there. Chase 23 is exciting, sure, especially for Pipeline collectors. Still, if your offence has been inconsistent, Chase 22 is probably the more useful choice right now.

Use the Thank You Pack with a plan

The free Thank You Pack, available from August 20 through August 31, changes the maths a bit. You get to choose one available Chase Card, but it is no-sell. That means there's no point taking a player just because his market price looks massive. You can't turn that choice back into currency later. Think about what actually helps your account this week. For some people, it's Musial. For others, it's the one card needed to push a collection reward over the line.

Check your everyday lineup before choosing.
See whether a Pipeline program reward already covers that position.
Prioritise a collection target only if you're close enough to finish it.
Pick a card you'll use, not one that merely looks expensive.

Older packs can solve awkward roster gaps

Don't write off Chase 20 or the earlier packs because they've been around longer. A 99 OVR card from July 31 can still be the right answer if it gives you something specific: a flexible infielder, a proper defensive outfielder, or a reliever whose pitch mix works for you. That's especially true with the new Pipeline path. Alfredo Duno, Caleb Bonemer, Eli Willits, Kade Anderson, Josue De Paula, and Jesús Made are tied into August 21 content through programs and collections. If you can earn help there, using your Chase selection on an older, harder-to-replace role is just sensible.

A practical choice for August 24

For most players, Chase 22 is the safest all-round recommendation because Musial offers immediate offence without needing a very specific build. Chase 23 moves up the list when you're committed to Pipeline content or need that exact position. Start with the free selection, then decide whether spending MLB The Show 26 stubs is even necessary. The right card is the one that gets into your lineup, helps a live collection goal, and makes the next game feel a little less uphill.
