U4N Reports on Path of Exile 2 Version 1.0 and New Duelist

The long Early Access journey for Path of Exile 2 Currency is approaching its next major chapter. Grinding Gear Games has announced that Path of Exile 2 Version 1.0 will officially launch on December 11, following the game's extended Early Access period. The announcement was made during the Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live livestream.

The full release will be available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In addition to confirming the launch date, the developer revealed the Duelist as a new class arriving with the official release.

A Major Gamescom Announcement

Gamescom's Opening Night Live gave Grinding Gear Games a global stage to reveal its latest Path of Exile 2 plans. The announcement was particularly significant because it confirmed when the game would finally move beyond Early Access.

The presentation included a trailer introducing the Duelist and showing additional material connected with the upcoming full release.

For players who have been following the project since its initial announcement, the news provides a clear indication that development has reached a mature stage.

Nearly Two Years of Early Access

Path of Exile 2 entered Early Access in December 2024. The initial launch performed strongly, with impressive sales on Steam demonstrating substantial interest in the game.

Since then, Grinding Gear Games has continued to update the title. The Early Access period has allowed the studio to adjust gameplay systems and respond to player feedback instead of treating the original launch as a fixed product.

That extended development process has been central to the game's evolution.

December 11 Marks Version 1.0

The official Version 1.0 launch is scheduled for December 11. PC players will be able to access the game through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Console players will also join the release through PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This broad platform rollout means the full release should be accessible to a much wider audience than the initial Early Access audience.

For players who have been waiting for the official version, the December date is now the key milestone.

Duelist Adds Another Choice

The new Duelist class will debut alongside Version 1.0. Its appearance in the Gamescom trailer gives players an early introduction to the class before it becomes available.

Adding a class at full launch can have a meaningful impact on the community. Veteran players can revisit the game with a completely new character concept, while newer players will have another option when deciding how they want to approach the game's combat and progression systems.

The Duelist could therefore become one of the defining features of the Version 1.0 launch.

Lessons From Early Access

The long Early Access period has provided Grinding Gear Games with an opportunity to refine Path of Exile 2 through real-world player feedback. Updates and adjustments have helped shape the experience over time.

That process also means that players returning for Version 1.0 may find a substantially different experience from the one that launched in December 2024.

The full release represents the next step after that lengthy period of experimentation and refinement.

Plan for the New Beginning

With the official launch date confirmed, players can begin preparing for a fresh stage of Path of Exile 2. Newcomers can wait for Version 1.0, while veterans can decide whether to start again with the Duelist or continue exploring familiar playstyles.

The economy will also be an important part of the launch environment. Players considering buy POE 2 Mirror of Kalandra options should pay attention to market conditions as the player population changes around Version 1.0.

December 11 should therefore be a particularly important date for anyone planning to experience Path of Exile 2 at its full release.
