Head for Stella Montis

The search should begin in Stella Montis. Ion Sputter is associated with technology from the Exodus period, so areas containing industrial equipment, technical storage, and older facilities are the most logical places to investigate.

The Assembly area stands out as the main destination. It has several workshops packed with containers, giving you more chances to encounter the material during a single raid. Building a route around these locations is much more efficient than checking unrelated buildings throughout the map.

Search the Assembly Workshops

Once you reach Assembly, slow down and search properly. Blue and white drawers, toolboxes, and similar containers throughout the workshops are worth opening. A quick pass can easily leave useful containers untouched, so take the time to check the smaller storage spots.

The second-floor room near the Raider extraction hatch deserves additional attention. Its position close to the Assembly area makes it a convenient location to include in every farming run, especially because you can potentially reach an extraction point soon after finding the material.

Add the Lobby to Your Route

If the workshops fail to produce Ion Sputter, continue your search in the Lobby. One location worth checking is beneath the stairs above the subway station, where gray lockers can occasionally provide useful loot.

The Lobby is not as strong a priority as Assembly, but it works well as the next stop in a wider farming route. Instead of immediately abandoning the raid after an unsuccessful workshop search, checking these additional containers gives you another opportunity without requiring a completely new strategy.

Investigate the Medical Rooms

The Medical Rooms are another secondary location. Search medical bags, cabinets, and nearby storage containers carefully. The resource has a lower chance of appearing here, but these areas can still be worthwhile when they are already on your route.

A practical route can therefore move from the Assembly Workshops to the Lobby and then through the Medical Rooms. This approach keeps your search concentrated in relevant areas while increasing the number of containers you inspect during each attempt.

Keep Your Find Safe

The danger does not end when Ion Sputter appears. Assembly is known for intense player activity, so carrying the material openly can make the final part of the raid especially risky.

Use the Safe Pocket as soon as you obtain the resource. Ion Sputter can be stored there, protecting it from being lost if another player eliminates you later. Making this an automatic part of your routine can save you from having to repeat several unsuccessful searches.

Plan an Early Extraction

The Raider Hatch inside the Assembly Workshops can make extraction considerably easier. If you plan to use it, bring the appropriate Hatch Key before entering the area.

This gives you a nearby escape option instead of forcing you to cross a large part of Stella Montis with a rare resource in your backpack. The shorter route also means fewer opportunities for an unexpected PvP encounter before you reach safety.
