Sierra Leonean Clubs Set to Benefit from FIFA’s USD 355 Million Club Support Programme
FIFA has confirmed that clubs releasing players for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers will be financially rewarded under its expanded Club Benefits Programme. The governing body has allocated USD 355 million worldwide to recognise and support clubs that contribute players for international duty.
This means Sierra Leonean sides such as FC Kallon, East End Lions, Bhantal, Port Authority, Luawa, Bai Bureh Warriors, Slifa, Bo Rangers, and Wilberforce Strikers stand to benefit, as several of their players are expected to feature in Leone Stars’ qualifiers.
While FIFA has not yet published country-by-country breakdowns, the initiative marks the first time payments will extend to clubs involved in the qualifying phase, not just the final tournament. It provides financial relief and recognition for clubs in Sierra Leone and across the globe for their role in developing talent for the international stage.
